SPEC releases updated storage solutions benchmark

GAINESVILLE, Va., December 20, 2017 — The Standard Performance Evaluation Corp. (SPEC) has released the SPEC SFS 2014_SP2 benchmark, an update of the worldwide standard software used to measure the maximum sustainable throughput that a storage solution can deliver.

Upgrades in SP2 of SPEC SFS 2014 software include:

  • An increase in load-generation scaling from 10,000 to 30,000 processes
  • Reduced startup time
  • Improved robustness in more distributed topologies
  • Improved details in logging and diagnostic messages
  • Enhancements to custom workload generation capabilities
  • A new workload for the electronic design automation (EDA) market.

Available immediately

The SPEC SFS 2014_SP2 benchmark is available for immediate download on the SPEC website. It is free for existing SPEC SFS 2014 license holders. The price for new customers is $2,000, with discounts for qualified research and academic institutions.
